Helping Kids Succeed
Truly, Bridge to Success is a critical program, ensuring stop-gap support to families who otherwise would fall through the cracks left by our social support network.

Wow! Thank you so much for getting Michael new glasses! He has been without glasses since June, and it has been difficult for him to read what was written on the blackboard which hindered his ability to fully participate in class. He is so excited to be able to see again! "Wow Look!" I can see all the signs!" Michael exclaimed as we drove back to school. He called out every store, food chain and landmark from Laurel to Landover. Many Thanks!

The students at the elementary school were so surprised to receive the new jeans from Neediest Kids. The girls' faces lit up with excitement when they found out that the jeans were a donation and that they could have two pairs each. They were appreciative and thankful for the donation.

How Neediest Kids Helps Students Succeed in School
How Neediest Kids Help Students Succeed in School through the Bridge to Success Program
HOW BRIDGE TO SUCCESS WORKS -- it’s as easy as A,B,C,1,2,3!
- A teacher, counselor, nurse, social worker, or other school professional notices that a student is wearing clothes that are too small, struggling to read the words on page, skipping gym class due to a lack of sneakers, or dealing with dozens of other problems that prevent him or her from learning.
- The school professional contacts their Neediest Kids Bridge to Success school coordinator. They enter a few bits of data into the award-winning Neediest Kids web-based portal and out pops a purchase order that the school professional gives to the student’s family.
- The student and his family bring the purchase order to one of our vendor partners including Hour Eyes, Target, Payless, and Safeway. Some of our vendor partners, like Staples or Risse Brothers School Uniforms, deliver exactly what the child needs right to the student’s school.
- Neediest Kids also provides students annually with more than a million dollars’ worth of in-kind contributions, including new clothes, school supplies, and other necessities.
