Helping Kids Succeed
Truly, Bridge to Success is a critical program, ensuring stop-gap support to families who otherwise would fall through the cracks left by our social support network.

Wow! Thank you so much for getting Michael new glasses! He has been without glasses since June, and it has been difficult for him to read what was written on the blackboard which hindered his ability to fully participate in class. He is so excited to be able to see again! "Wow Look!" I can see all the signs!" Michael exclaimed as we drove back to school. He called out every store, food chain and landmark from Laurel to Landover. Many Thanks!

The students at the elementary school were so surprised to receive the new jeans from Neediest Kids. The girls' faces lit up with excitement when they found out that the jeans were a donation and that they could have two pairs each. They were appreciative and thankful for the donation.

Stories
Here are just a few anecdotes about how the Neediest Kids Bridge to Success makes a tangible difference in the lives of thousands of DC, Maryland, and Virginia students.
A high school senior was struggling throughout the year with homelessness, illness, caring for a baby, and trying to complete her schoolwork. Through Neediest Kids, we were able to help her buy food and clothing for her and the baby. Neediest Kids also purchased a cell phone and some minutes which she could use for emergencies and paid her graduation expenses so that she could walk proudly across the stage. Thanks to Neediest Kids we now have a successful young lady who is stepping into the adult world armed with her high school diploma.

There was a nine-year-old third grade female student who had difficulties seeing, and her vision issues were impacting her work performance. Upon receiving the glasses, this student’s work habits and grades improved. Neediest Kids also assisted this student and her family with a Target voucher to obtain clothing. She had been coming to school with the same outfit every day and after receiving the voucher, she had new clothes and was more confident.

Bridges to Success provided generous funds for clothing and food for a homeless family with four adolescent children. I had the pleasure to work with the youngest child, the 14-year-old boy. Bridge to Success funds were a practical complement to all the interventions that the school put in place. Buying him appropriate and clean clothes in the winter time was a practical and concrete way to show him that adults in the community care about him. This young man kept working toward his goal of being promoted to 9th grade and succeeded. Thank you for your timely assistance.
